About Us
The E.L.I.T.E is an after-school science club focused on Science enrichment and engineering practices. This program aligns lesson plans with state benchmarks, focused on academic comprehension and performance. With a commitment to elementary school science, this program targets 5th grade students. Students will receive extended instruction and remediation exercises along with assessment strategies. Students will have the opportunity to explore scientific investigations while engaging in science engineering practices.
We target minority students and students that need additional support in meeting the state's science standards. Using standards and benchmarks instituted by the Department of Education, all lessons will be designed based off of performance trends. Data will be collected to measure and quantify the effectiveness of the program. Using assessment tools (test prep and assessment items) and assignments, comprehension and performance will be measured.
